Suspecting the fidelity of his 60-year-old wife, a man today allegedly stabbed her to death at a village in the district, police said.
65-year-old Tirupathy, a construction labourer of Solasiramani village, and Nallammal were married for over 30 years and had two daughters and a son, all of whom have been married.
Tirupathy used to quarrel with his wife frequently questioning her fidelity. Following one such wordy duel today, he stabbed her with a knife in her chest, killing her on the spot.
He has been arrested and the knife secured, Inspector Kandaswamy said.
