A 65-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by three bike-borne assailants in south west Delhi's Najafgarh area, police said.

The last night's incident seems to be a fallout of the ongoing rivalry of a gang war in the area as victim Rohtash Singh was father of one of the accused, Gopal, who had earlier allegedly shot dead four youths of their rival gang and then burnt their bodies after taking them to Jhajjar in Haryana on January 1.

Police said they have registered a case and a manhunt has been launched in this connection.

On January 1, Manish, Sandeep, Sudhir and Deepak were first allegedly shot dead by Gopal and his 15 other associates with six sophisticated weapons in village Mitrau, Delhi after they were intercepted while returning from a party on new year's eve.

Thereafter, they had put the bodies of the deceased in a car and set it on fire after driving it down to Isherheri village of Jhajjar to destroy evidence.

Two charred bodies were found in the car boot while the remaining two were found between seats of the car the next day by local police.

According to the police, Naveen Khati and Ravinder, both residents of Mitrau village were involved in a fight over supremacy in the area.

Manish, one of the deceased in the January 1 case, was Naveen's brother and worked as a cable operator. Deepak, another deceased, was earlier arrested in the murder case of one Pratap who was Ravinder's associate.

He was also arrested in the case when they had attempted to kill Ravinder but he had survived despite three gunshots. Remaining two deceased were friends of Deepak and Manish.

Rajesh, who has been arrested had revealed that on the fateful night, Ravinder, his brother Dharmender and around 15 other men had assembled at office-cum-residence of Ravinder in Mitrau. They had already procured six sophisticated pistols to execute the plan.

They knew that Manish and three others were having a party in the office of one Bhupesh in Mitrau village. As per the plan, the car in which the four victims were going to their houses after the party was intercepted.

All four were taken to a house where Ravinder, Rajesh, Dharmender, Ashok, Gopal, Lalit and one associate of Lalit opened fire on them with six pistols. All four were killed instantly, police said.

The accused persons followed the car in their SUV. They sprinkled petrol upon the bodies and car and set it on fire, police said.
