A man allegedly axed his 80-year-old grandmother to death in a fit of rage in Pushkar town of Ajmer district, police said today.
Sohan Nath (28) hit his grandmother Jamku Devi in a fit of anger leaving her dead on the spot, they added.
"Nath asked for the axe from the grandmother for cutting branches of trees but she did not tell him where the axe was kept. He later found the axe on his own and in a fit of rage, he hit his grandmother's neck leaving her dead," Ramesh Sinsinwar, SHO Pushkar police station said.
The accused has been arrested, he said.
