In a signed statement issued here today, six sportspersons, three of whom are Members of the Legislative Assembly, said: "We sports lovers today fervently appeal at this historic moment to the electorate to exercise their franchise with a sense of responsibility so that sports and youth affairs are handled by able and conscientious persons who can give a sense of direction and motivate the youth of this country."
The six sportsperson include Anand Singh Dangi, MLA and president of Haryana Athletics Association; Ch Dharam Bir Singh, MLA and president of Haryana Swimming Association; Rao Dan Singh, MLA and working president of Haryana Football Association; Ravinder Singh, president of Haryana Basketball Association; Ashok Mehta, president of Haryana Kabaddi (Circle) Association and Sandeep Singh, president of Haryana Kabaddi (NS) Association.
They also drew attention of common man towards corruption prevalent in sports administration. (MORE)
