Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Kailash Meghwal today said the election of the deputy speaker was his "prerogative" and a decision will be taken at the right time.
Replying on a Point of Information raised yesterday by senior BJP legislator Ghanshyam Tiwari, the Speaker said the election of deputy-speaker of the House will be held when he will fix the date and the Assembly Secretary sends information to every member of the House.
Tiwari had said that even after 15 months of Assembly formation, the election of deputy Speaker was not held.

Ensuring action against senior bureaucrats who had walked out of officers' gallery while the Speaker was announcing the business, Meghwal said three of the four officers turned to his chamber and tendered unconditional apology promising not to repeat their action.
While the Assembly would ensure action against the fourth officer who did not turn up to my office today, Meghwal said.
In the recent sitting, the House observed a number of government officials (IAS) left the lobby while the Speaker was addressing the members.
Both the Speaker and the Parliamentary Affairs Minister R S Rathore had raised the issue saying it was an insult of the State Assembly and the guilty officers be punished.
