Several government buildings have been set ablaze in Haiti and one protester has been killed in demonstrations ignited by the release of final legislative election results.

Violent protests are engulfing several towns around the country, though the crowded capital of Port-au-Prince has been quiet.

Protesters say the parliamentary election results published late yesterday don't reflect voters' will.

Police Inspector Guytho Noel says that a teenage protester was fatally shot when two factions clashed today in northeastern Haiti. An election council building and a mayor's office has been torched in nearby Ferrier.

Presidential and legislative runoffs are scheduled for next weekend.
