Electrified fence claims life of tribal woman

A 35-year-old tribal woman was electrocuted when she allegedly came into contact with an electrified fence in a private farm in a forest area near here, police said today.

Ramathal was suspected to have touched the electrified fence, erected to prevent wild animals from entering the farm, while returning home last evening after grazing her goats at Semmedu in Poluvampatti range, they said.

Further investigation was on, police added.

Erecting of such high-voltage electric fence is illegal.
