A 65-year-old farmer has been trampled to death by an elephant, forest officials said.
The hearing impaired farmer had gone to the nearby forest in search of his bulls when he was attacked by the elephant yesterday. His friend managed to escape.
Meanwhile, three elephants damaged some crops in a farm at Punjai Puliampatty.
Forest officials said the herd came from the nearby Vilamundi forest area.
