Eleven illegal religious structures demolished in Nashik

Anti-encroachment squad of Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) today pulled down 11 religious places in CIDCO, Ambad and Satpur areas of city.

These illegal structures had come up after 2009 and included a Dutt mandir, a goddess temple and a Maruti temple.

Anti-encroachment squad headed by NMC commissioner Abhishek Krishna and including Deputy Commissioner R M Bahiram, 50 officials and police carried out the operation using JCB machines.

NMC had served notices to owners of these illegal structures which obstructed development projects, the civic body said in a release.
