Elton John pays homage to Gregg Allman

Singer Elton John said celebrated musician Gregg Allman was a "kind and gentle soul" and that his death was a huge blow to the music community.

The 70-year-old artiste took to Instagram to remember the co-founder of The Allman Brothers Band.

Allman passed away on May 27 at the age of 69 in his sleep at his home in Savannah, Georgia.

"After the most tragic week for music, there is more sad news. Another great musician has left us. Gregg Allman was revered by musicians everywhere. A kind and gentle soul. Much love to his family and friends. @greggallmanofficial #RIP," wrote Elton alongside Allman's photograph.
 

Apart from the "Bennie and The Jets" singer, Allman's former wife Cher, Ringo Starr, John Mayer, Keith Urban, Melissa Etheridge, Jason Aldean and Peter Frampton among others also mourned the demise of the iconic singer.

Recently, Audioslave and Soundgarden founder-frontman Chris Cornell also passed away, which was a shock to the music lovers across the world.
