Emergency helpline in aid of patients

In a move to bridge the health access gaps for emergency patients mostly from the rural areas in Assam, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has approved extension of the '108 Mritunjoy Services' for another six months.

'108 Mritunjoy Services' in the state provided under a PPP framework with the government being the major partner has also been brought under Essential Services Maintenance Act, said a government release today.

The '108 Mritunjoy Services' operates 380 surface ambulances and 5 boat ambulances in Assam and so far the services has responded to over 22,38,481 emergencies, the statement added.
