Actress Emily Blunt is in talks to star in the upcoming 'Snow White and the Huntsman' sequel 'The Huntsman'.

The 'Into the Woods' actress is in negotiations to play Charlize Theron's character's evil sister The Snow Queen, , reported The Wrap.

Charlize Theron is set to reprise her role as the villainous Ravenna while Chris Hemsworth will return as Eric, the huntsman who aided Snow White (Kristen Stewart) in the original film directed by Rupert Sanders.

The sequel sees the Huntsman sent on a quest to find the stolen magic mirror, forcing him to face his past and the evil Snow Queen set on avenging her sister Ravenna's death.

Director Frank Darabont dropped out of the project last week following creative differences with Universal but a new filmmaker is set to be announced for the movie next week.

Joe Roth is to produce the film alongside Palak Patel as Executive Producer while the current draft of the screenplay was written by Darabont, with previous drafts penned by Craig Mazin and Evan Spiliotopoulos.

'The Huntsman' is slated for release on April 22, 2016.
