Actress Emma Stone reportedly nearly lost her drivers license after failing to pay a ticket for almost eight years.

The 25-year-old 'The Amazing Spider-Man' star's license had been put on hold after she failed to pay a USD 437 ticket until last year, reported Radar online.

According to some court records, Stone had been charged with "failure to produce evidence of financial responsibility", after she failed to the show evidence that her car was insured, during a traffic stop in her hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona, in July 2005.

The actress reportedly did not turn up for a scheduled court appearance the following month, which led to the court making several attempts to collect on the owed sum.

The State of California reportedly put a hold on her license, which would not have been renewed if she had not paid the fine.

Stone finally paid off her ticket in March 2013.
