Actress-singer Taraji P Henson took to twitter to announce the September premiere date for the upcoming season of "Empire".
Henson, 44, who plays the fierce Cookie Lyon on the popular hip-hop drama series, confirmed the show will kick-off the second season on September 23 on FOX, reported Aceshowbiz.
The actress tweeted, "Hello! September 23 #Empire season." The same was quickly confirmed by the writing staff of the show through twitter.
Chat show queen Oprah Winfrey and Common are rumoured to appear as well while Ne-Yo is expected to write original music along with Timbaland.
