Employee held for stealing gold from shop in J-K

A resident of West Bengal was today arrested here on the charges of looting gold worth Rs three lakh from a goldsmith shop where he was working, a police spokesman said.

The stolen gold was recovered on the basis of information provided by arrested accused Vishal Kumar, a resident of Chai Putti in Midnapur Tehsil of West Bengal, the spokesman said.

On July 24, a complaint was lodged by Shashi Paul, a resident of Akhnoor, that an artesian in his shop ran away with gold weighing 98 grams.

A case was registered and an investigation initiated, the spokesman said.

He said Kumar was finally arrested and he admitted his involvement in the theft at the shop.
