Employee held for taking bribe

The dealing assistant of a community health centre in Ganjam district was arrested by vigilance sleuths for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 2,000 from a man to issue death certificate of his father.

The accused, identified as Mirza Sajid Baig and posted in the CHC at Munishipentha, was arrested yesterday, vigilance officials said.

Baig was caught red-handed while taking the cash from the complainant, Hadu Gouda, said Vigilance SP (Berhampur) Manoranjan Panda.

After Baig was arrested, his residential house was searched, he added.
