Even as the new buildings for domestic and international terminals are awaiting a date from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa for their inauguration, the Civil Aviation Ministry is yet to decide on whether the AAI will operate the new buildings once opened for traffic.
The Planning Commission had earlier suggested allowing private players to operate the new terminals in Chennai.
