Actor Emraan Hashmi and producer Ekta Kapoor today visited the ongoing Maha Kumbh here and took a holy dip in the Sangam before participating in a "yajna" for the success of their upcoming movie "Ek Thi Daayan". The Bollywood personalities were accompanied by some other members of their unit, including actress Huma Qureishi who shot to fame with "Gangs of Wasseypur 2". From the city, they drove to the camp of Parmarth Niketan, a spiritual organization floated by Rishikesh-based seer Swami Chidanand Saraswati, in Sector 13 of the Kumbh area. From the camp, they proceeded to take a holy dip before performing a "Daayan Mukti Yajna", much to the amusement of onlookers. The film is slated to release this April. There is clear instruction from the administration that no film promotion activity would be allowed at the congregation but the team was allowed after they promised to keep their movement low-key. "A tight watch is being kept on the movements of the film personalities who have been restrained from indulging in any activity which could unnecessary attract crowds and lead to a stampede. "Their visit had been allowed as they had made it clear that they will keep it a low-key affair and conduct themselves in an inconspicuous fashion. So far, everything has been under control and they are likely to leave Allahabad by the evening," Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyam Narayan Singh, who is in-charge of the area, said. The administration had last month issued an advisory prohibiting any film promotion activity at the congregation following reports that a number of film personalities were planning to do publicity work here for their forthcoming releases.
