Seven more children succumbed to encephalitis in the district, taking the death toll due to the disease in eastern Uttar Pradesh to 473 this year, health officials said today.
The seven died at the Baba Raghav Das Medical College Hospital (BRD-MCH) here yesterday. They belonged to different district of eastern Uttar Pradesh. As many as 18 new patients of encephalitis were admitted to the hospital during the past 24 hours, they said.
A total of 2,320 encephalitis patients have been admitted to hospitals this year, the officials said.
Over 200 patients are being treated at BRD MCH at present, they said.
