The Haryana Government has directed state officials to encourage people to open bank accounts so that various social security pensions could be disbursed through banks.
The directions were issued by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in a meeting with officers held here they were asked to complete this work by October 31, 2015, an official release said here today.
Khattar said that so far 18 lakh beneficiaries have opened their bank accounts.
The Chief Minister informed that after the launch of disbursal of pension through banks, 530 persons have voluntarily given up availing benefit of Old Age Samman Allowance.
Information has been received regarding large scale irregularities in Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, he revealed.
He directed the officers concerned to carry out special investigation in these cases.
The Chief Minister directed to adopt e-tendering for Urban Local Bodies under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Khattar also directed to make available DAP fertiliser and certified seeds of wheat in adequate quantities for the upcoming Rabi season.
It was informed in the meeting that two lakh quintal seeds would be provided by the Haryana Seed Development Corporation Limited.
Also, arrangements have been made to purchase seeds from Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. It was informed that during Rabi season, it is expected that crop would be sown in 25.20 lakh hectares of area.
The certified seeds of wheat are provided at a rate of Rs 1875 per quintal which includes a subsidy of Rs 1000.
HAFED has made advance arrangements of 1.12 lakh metric tonnes of urea and 97,000 metric tonnes of DAP. Apart from this, DAP and urea is made available through 10,000 private dealers in the state.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is completing its one year tenure on October 26 and for this occasion a special plan is being prepared to present one year achievements of the government.
He said that Haryana is completing its 50th years of inception as it was carved on November 1, 1966 and special programmes would also be organised to mark the occasion.
