A train driver was today injured when the engine of the Valsad-Puri Express caught fire at Bhopal railway station.
No passenger was injured in the incident that took place at around 8.10 AM on platform number 4 of Bhopal Junction railway station when electric current spread in the engine due to some fault led to the fire, a spokesman of West Central Railway said.
The injured assistant driver, identified as Rajendra Prasad, a resident of Ratlam, was initially admitted to the Railway Hospital, but later shifted to Chirayu Hospital where he was stated to be stable, West Central Railway's Bhopal division PRO I A Siddiqui told PTI.
The train later resumed its onward journey after the fault was rectified, he added.
