Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council Ramesh Yadav today reserved his decision in the privilege matter pertaining to Congress MLC Dinesh Singh being threatened by an executive engineer.

As per orders issued earlier, executive engineer of Rae Bareli Development Authority S K Sinha appeared before the bar in the Upper House today and tendered an unconditional apology.

Singh repeated his allegations, to which Sinha said that he never uttered any of the words intentionally.

"If anyone has been hurt by my words, I tender an unconditional apology," Sinha said and also mentioned that he can never imagine to insult any MLA, MLC or any other public representative.

Last Thursday, Singh had moved a privilege notice during the Zero Hour, saying, "Yesterday I received a call from S K Sinha, executive engineer of Rae Bareli Development Authority, who insulted me. I am deeply hurt by the incident and seek protection from the Chair."

When Leader of the Opposition Ahmed Hasan (SP) and other leaders demanded harsh punishment for the official, Yadav, while reserving his decision, said, "After deliberating with leaders of different political parties, a decision on punishment in this case will be taken.
