irrigation department along with the staff of a guest house were allegedly assaulted by some persons here, police said today.
The engineer, associated with the Ban Sagar project, along with some employees of a guest house were allegedly assaulted by one Sanjay Chaurasiya and his accomplices over some dispute yesterday, they said.
Agitated over the incident, members of the Junior Engineers Association went on a strike, police said.
Chaurasiya is said to be an aide of a minister in the SP government in Uttar Pradesh, according to the locals.
A case had been lodged against Chaurasaiya and others, police said.
