Body of a water resources department engineer was found at his rented accommodation at Balbhadrapur colony in Bihar's Darbhanga district today, with has family members alleging that he was poisoned.
The deceased has been identified as Ram Jatan Mahto, a resident of Thawe block of Gopalganj district, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dilnawaz Ahmad said.
Mahto, a Junior Engineer with the water resources department in Darbhanga district, was residing in a one room rented accommodation at Balbhadrapur Colony in Laheriasarai area of the town, the ASP.
On being informed by the landlord, police broke open the door and sent the body for post-mortem.
Mahto's relatives alleged that he was poisoned. A liquor bottle has been recovered from the room, the officer said, adding, the matter is being investigated.
