A Junior Engineer of Jaipur Vidhyut Vitaran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) was today arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 3000 from a client.

Pradeep Batra was apprehended by the sleuths of state Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for accepting a bribe of Rs 3000 from a client named Anil Gurjar in lieu of releasing power connection in Alwar, its spokesperson said here.

Gurjar had made a complaint with the ACB against Batra who demanded a bribe of Rs 5000 from him for releasing power connection through a contractor late last month, the spokesperson said.

The complainant had paid Rs 2000 in advance to the Engineer earlier and paid Rs 3000 to him in presence of plain- clothed sleuths who trapped him red-handed, she said.
