Engineering student commits suicide in Noida

An engineering student of a private university allegedly hanged himself to death at a rented room outside his college campus area here, police said today.

Mihir Madhur's roommate Shivam Bansal said that last night they both had slept after dinner. When Shivam tried to wake up Mihir for coaching classes at around 8 am, he found the latter's body hanging from a ceiling fan following which he informed the police, they said.

Police has sent the body for post-mortem.

Mihir has left a suicide note in which he has stated that he was "upset with his studies and had a back in one of his papers". He "lost one year of his studies following which he took the extreme step", police said.
 

Mihir's father is railway employee posted at Ambala.

Police has informed the deceased's parents and Amity University at sector 125 where he was studying, said SHO Anil Pratap Singh.
