English band Supersonics to perform at national rock concert

With plans afoot to record their second album in November, premier rock band Supersonics today said the coming 'Harley Davidson' concert here will pave the way to cement their place in the Indian-English rock world.

"Once the recording starts we will cut the album in March 2014, aimed at our fan base in North India and also the rock hub of North-East," Ananda Sen of Supersonics said.

The band, which stormed into the music scene with a high voltage performance at Someplace Else sometimes after coming up in 2006, said they were proud to be associated with Harley Rock Riders IV, which denotes youth.
 

The focus of HRR is to revolutionize the rock music culture in India by encouraging promising indigenous rock bands and "We fit in the bill as a still young group which has its core area in English rock music," he said.

Rueing the lack of infrastructure required for rock performances in Kolkata, he said the band was more followed across the continent through Facebook followers.

Their debut album, Maby Baking, released by HMV Saregama, was a success garnering rave reviews from rock genre media including Rolling Stone Magazine which bracketed them within 'Top Ten Artists to Watch For' in 2008.

The August '13, the annual music property of Harley-Davidson will take place across six major cities in - Pune, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Delhi and Mumbai to commemorate the 110 year anniversary of Harley- Davidson, the theme being 'FREEDOM'.

The Indian rock bands would include Lightyears Explode, Digital Suicide, The Incredible Mindfunk. The winning band will clinch the title of "Harley-Davidson India Band of the Year" and also European Bike Week 2014- Austria.
