Intervening in a calling attention motion of JD(U) member Manjit Kumar Singh, the chief minister said that he had asked the additional director general of vigilance to inquire into the matter.
Kumar said he had enquired from officials as to how items recovered in the raid were returned to his wife. The officials told him that the practice of returning seized items had been followed since long in the state.
The chief minister said he had asked ADG Vigilance to go into the details and find out on whose instruction such a practice was followed.
The case relates to an incident in which a gold biscuit was recovered from the house of the officer and it was mentioned in the seizure report which was submitted before court. But as per the subsequent seizure report which was also submitted to the court, it was a silver biscuit
Earlier, raising the matter, Singh questioned as to how items seized in raids, and their list submitted to court, were changed subsequently.
