An enquiry has been ordered against Jindal Saw company for allegedly setting up a commercial plant on a land allotted for mining purposes here.

Bhilwara District Collector Onkar Singh has directed officials to enquire into the irregularities in land use by the company.

A complaint alleging irregularities was received by the Collector recently, following which he directed Tehsiladar Ram Singh to probe the matter and submit a report, official sources said.

Jindal Saw had been allotted 744.13 bigha land for mining and another 143 bigha for commercial use in Pur town of the district. But the company had set up a commercial plant on a 30 bigha of land allotted for mining, the complaint alleged.

"A report will be submitted in a couple of days. If the plant is set up on the mining land, the company will be issued notice and commercial charges will be recovered," Singh said.

Head coordinator of the company S P Malik could not be reached for comments despite several attempts.
