Jammu and Kashmir minister for Planning and Development, Ajay Sadhotra, today directed his department to ensure accurate assessment of damages in Doda district caused due to the recent earthquake.
"Ensure accurate on-ground assessment of damages in the region so that all the affected people get benefit of the relief and rehabilitation programme," Sadhotra said.
He also directed the officers to provide tents to all those affected families whose houses have been severely damaged due to the quake that hit the area on May 1 earlier this month.

The Minister also announced that the distribution of free ration sanctioned for the earthquake affected families will start from tomorrow.
"Ensure proper and equal distribution of ration among the affected families so that each and every affected family gets relief," he told the officers while reviewing the relief measures during a meeting of the district and sectoral officers at quake affected Baderwah area of district Doda.
Sadhotra later also interacted with the team of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) comprising of Scientists and Professionals from IIT Madras and IIT Hyderabad, who visited quake affected areas of Baderwah and assessed the damage caused by the recent earthquake of 5.8 magnitude which shook the entire Chinab valley.
