West Bengal Governor K N Tripathi has expressed concern over the recent bomb blast at Nagerbazar in Kolkata suburbs and Wednesday's blaze at a state-run hospital, asking officials to ensure that such incidents do not recur, a statement issued by Raj Bhavan on Thursday said.
He also urged the investigating agencies to probe the blast incident from all angles.
"The law-enforcing agencies should be much more vigilant and active so that incidents, such as the one at Nagerbazar, do not recur. Besides, public awareness should be raised on the issue," the statement said quoting Tripathi.
Referring to fire breakout at Calcutta Medical College and Hospital on Wednesday, Tripathi stated that officials concerned should have been more careful.
The fire added to the misery of the patients and the medical college, too, faced huge losses, he said.
The state has witnessed three bridge collapses and two major fire incidents in the past one month.

"It is a matter of great concern that incidents of fire and other mishaps like collapse of bridges are happening regularly. The executives concerned should be more alert to prevent loss of life and property," the governor asserted.
A seven-year-old child was killed and nine people, including his mother, were injured in a low-intensity explosion in front of a multi-storey building at Nagerbazar in Kolkata's northern suburbs on Tuesday.
At the medical college, a fire broke out in the pharmacy department Wednesday morning, following which around 250 patients had to be evacuated.
"A high-level enquiry should be conducted into the causes of fire and adequate measures should be adopted so that similar events do not happen again," the statement quoted Tripathi as saying.
