Ensure progress in education for overall development: Hooda

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today urged the people to give best possible education to their wards so as to ensure a bright future for them, and bring in overall development.

Addressing the people on the 637th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Ravidass, he said the 15th century saint had always propagated high ideals and showed path to the entire humanity.

He said the teachings of Ravidass were still relevant in the present day. "Following his footsteps, the state government has ensured welfare of all sections of the society especially the people belonging to Scheduled Castes and other Backward Classes," he added.
 

Hooda said the state government had started many schemes and programmes for providing quality education to all.

"Today the world in shirking and development is taking place everywhere in every field. In this era, those society, state or nation would lead which would ensure progress in education," he said.

About 19.72 lakh students in the state were getting scholarship ranging from Rs 75 to Rs 600 per month right from class I to Class XII, he claimed.

He also highlighted various schemes and programmes which were being implemented by the state government for the welfare of the people belonging to Scheduled Castes and other Backward Classes.
