Amidst a row over entry of women at the Shani Shinganapur temple in Maharashtra, state BJP chief Raosaheb Danve today said the party's view was that equal treatment should be meted out to men and women at religious places.
"The party's view is clear that both males and females should be provided equal treatment, whether it is a temple, mosque or church. Now the (Bombay) High Court has also delivered its verdict on the issue," he said on being asked about the controversy.
A day after Bombay High Court held that entry to temples was a fundamental right of women, scores of women activists today made a bid to storm the inner sanctum of the Shani Shinganapur temple to break the ban but they were stopped by the villagers.
