Equirus Capital today said it has appointed Abhishek Gupta as Director to head its healthcare and pharma vertical.
Gupta, who was till now associated with Veda Corporate Advisors, has over 18 years of experience in sectors like healthcare, manufacturing, infrastructure, dairy, food, restaurants, pharma and chemicals.
"The healthcare space has seen lot of traction over the last two years, especially in the mid-market segment and we believe with Gupta coming on board, we will become a dominant player in this segment," Equirus Capital Head - Investment Banking and Managing Director Ajit Deshmukh said.

Airtel Digital TV launches video on demand astrology channel
Airtel Digital TV, the DTH arm of Bharti Airtel today said it has partnered Dominiche, a multi-channel network that provides content for DTH and OTT in the niche genres, to launch a subscription-based video on demand astrology channel Astrovaani.
This is the first time that Indian viewers will have access to on-demand, round the clock, cable content focused on astrology, the direct-to-home operator said in a statement.
"Indians have shown an appetite for content related to astrology and this service will offer them easy access to the latest related in the genre," said Airtel Digital TV Chief Marketing Officer Sriram Sundresan.
CMI Ltd's FY17 profit rises 18 pc to Rs 20 cr
* Specialty cable company CMI Ltd today reported an 18.18 per cent increase in its standalone profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 20.08 crore for the fiscal ended March 2017.
The company had reported a PAT of Rs 16.99 crore in the 2015-16 fiscal, CMI Ltd said in a statement.
Total income during the period under review stood at Rs Rs 346.03 crore as against Rs 271.39 crore in 2015-16, an increase of 27.5 per cent.
"The impetus provided by the government of India for modernisation as well as laying of new railway lines and their vision to provide electricity to all by 2022 puts the industry on the growth trajectory," CMI Ltd MD Amit Jain said.
