Private sector Equitas Small Finance Bank has offered digital payment solutions to customers in Chengalpattu region under the 'Digi-Chengai' initiative.
The project is aimed at making cash-less economy under the Cente's Digital India initiative, a bank statement said.
Equitas Small Finance Bank would offer a host of digital services like point of sale at merchants, quick response based on payment solutions, net and mobile banking facilities.
"At a time when our country is striving to revolutionise the landscape of electronic payments, and reduce the usage of cash in the economy, it is indeed our responsibility as a bank to extend our digital offerings to towns and villages", the bank's President and Country Head, Sanjeev Srivastava said.
"There is no investment or any rentals involved in enabling scan and pay. We hope to emerge as the digital leader in banking space and use this to promote financial inclusion of the underserved segment in the country over time", he added.
