Eradicating political corruption without reforming the electoral process is not possible, social activist Anna Hazare said today even as he accused the Narendra Modi government of bringing in a weak lokpal.

"The Modi government has brought a weak Lokpal. The government talks about a corruption free system but it seems it has no intention of bringing a strong Lokpal," Hazare said addressing a meeting here.

He attacked the previous UPA government for not bringing in a Lokpal bill despite a promise by former prime minister Manmohan Singh.

Hazare said he will hold a 'satyagraha' in Delhi on March 23 to highlight problems faced by farmers, the Jan Lokpal issue and the need for electoral reforms.

Hazare was on a two-day visit to UP to garner support for the proposed Satyagraha.

The social activist, who was the face of anti-corruption protests in 2011, had last year chosen March 23 as the day to launch his 'satyagraha' as it happens to be Martyr's Day.
