Parveen alias Sonu was nabbed along with his associate Pradeep Kanondia from Punjabi Bagh yesterday.
He is allegedly the leader of a gang which steals cars in Delhi-NCR area. Among other incidents, they had robbed two cars from near Ghaziabad and Punjabi Bagh areas on the intervening night of October 30 and 31.
Parveen escaped from police custody while being produced in court at Tis Hazari Court Complex on October 19 and started indulging in car-jacking incidents once again.
After investigations, police arrested four members of the gang-- Surender, Sudhir, Pardeep and Mandeep -- and based on their interrogation, launched a manhunt for Parveen leading to his rearrest.
Parveen is involved in more than 30 cases of robbery or car-jacking, police said.
After fleeing from police custody, he along with his other associates had looted three luxury cars. Raids were conducted in Nanital, Muradabad, Fateahabad-Sirsa area to apprehend them.
