A team of capital police under crime branch in-charge SI Krishnendu Deb nabbed one of the escaped under-trial prisoners from Banderdewa area.
The under-trial prisoner Budh Ram Nayak of Jenyadhupa under Laluk police station in Assam's Lakhimpur district was arrested on February 21, Capital SP Seju P Kuruvilla said here today.
Nayak along with two other under-trial prisoners, namely, Farooq Islam and Md Majibur Rahman had escaped from district jail here on the night of August 24, 2012.

Meanwhile, the accused was produced before the Court of CJM, Yupia and remanded to judicial custody, police said.
Following the disclosure that other escaped under-trial prisoner Farooq Islam was languishing in Nowgaon district jail in Assam for his involvement in several criminal cases, a team of police left for Nowgaon to bring him back to Itanagar soon after completion of legal formalities, the SP disclosed.
All out efforts have been initiated for an early apprehension of the remaining escaped undertrial prisoner Majibur Rahman, the SP added.
Nayak was put in jail in connection with a gruesome murder case, while a theft case had been registered against Islam.
Rahman was involved in a rape and twin murder case of Itanagar in the year 2008.
