Essar Power Wednesday commissioned the 337-km Mahan-Sipat transmission line, the final leg of a 465-km transmission system consisting of three interstate lines that have been built at an investment of Rs 2,400 crore.
The new 400-kV lines will help Essar Power to evacuate power from its 1,200-mw Mahan thermal plant in Madhya Pradesh, a release said.
The Mahan-Sipat transmission line is part of the inter-state transmission system that has been built by Essar Power Transmission Company. It extends from Mahan to the Sipat pooling station in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, which is connected to the National Grid.

Axis Mutual Fund Wednesday launched a new fund named Axis Growth Opportunities Fund, and is targeting to raise Rs 1,500 crore through the same.
The fund offers a global investment opportunity by investing in domestic equities as well as foreign securities by leveraging its relationship with Schroder Investment Management, the AMC said in a statement.
New offering will open on October 1 and close on October 15, it said, adding the AMC hopes to mop up Rs 1,500 crore through this scheme.

Fintech and big data analytics company Goals101 Wednesday said it has received a pre-series A funding of USD 3.5 million from Nexus Venture Partners.
With this round of funding, Nexus also becomes a significant minority stakeholder in Goals101, which was started two years ago, a release said.
Goals101 has partnerships across 21 leading banking partners in Asia and solves multitude of user cases.
