Etihad Airways unveils new luxury hotel-style cabins

Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways has unveiled luxury hotel-style suites featuring a bedroom, private bathroom and a dedicated butler on board its Airbus A380 as part of plans to push luxury to a sky-high new level.

Located on the upper-deck of A380, the new service - The Residence - will also have a separate double bedroom and a personal Butler to make travel a sophisticated experience for the passengers.

While A380 aircraft will have full mobile and Wi-Fi services, the B787 will only be equipped with Wi-Fi.

The A380 will feature the First Apartments, which are fully private suites with a separate reclining lounge seat and full-length bed, besides a mini-bar, personal vanity unit and wardrobe.
 

A range of other facilities like noise cancelling headsets for best sound quality, video touchscreen handsets, improved gaming and high definition screens,750 hours of on-demand entertainment,video touchscreen handsets will also be part of the new product and service offering launched in Abu Dhabi yesterday.

The new business and economy classes - The Business Studio and Economy Smart Seat - will be found on both the A380 and the B787.

"These new living spaces will raise inflight product and service standards to their highest level yet in commercial aviation and alter air travellers' expectations of inflight comfort and luxury forever", said James Hogan, Etihad Airways' President and Chief Executive Officer.

"Etihad Airways' A380 and B787 will deliver the most advanced airline cabins in the industry, while meeting all weight, range and cost targets at our desired seat count. This will allow us to offer products unparallelled in quality and style, yet at competitive prices across all three cabins", he said.

The airline established the Etihad Design Consortium (EDC) which brought together three leading design companies, Acumen, Factory design and Honour Branding to develop innovative cabin and seat designs for the new fleets.
