'American Horror Story' star Evan Peters has bagged a role in the upcoming 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' movie.

The 26-year-old actor will play speedy mutant Quicksilver in Bryan Singer's new film. Interestingly, 'Quicksilver' will also appear in Joss Whedon's 'Avengers 2', reported Contactmusic.

'X-Men' director Bryan Singer, who is 'thrilled' with the new entrant, tweeted, "Before he was an Avenger, he was just a really fast kid. Thrilled to say Evan Peters is joining 'X Men- Days Of Future Past as Quicksilver (sic)."

Peters joins the elite cast that includes Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Ellen Page and Michael Fassbender in the new film.

Marvel Studios' president Kevin Feige said, "They can use (the characters) as mutants and as Magneto's relatives, but cannot have anything to do with The Avengers.
