On the occasion, Naik also released a book 'Raj Bhawan mein Ram Naik 2014-2015' giving an account of all works undertaken by him as governor which also mentions all the issues on which there were possibilities of confrontation between Raj Bhawan and the government.
Citing one such issue, he referred to nomination of nine persons to the Legislative Council on the seats meant for litterateurs or those excelling in the field of science, culture or social service.
"Objections were raised over some names in the list of nine that came before me after which I sought an explanation from the government and approved four names...More information has been sought on five others," Naik said.
"Generally the tradition has been that Raj Bhawan approves the names sent by the government but for me constitutional arrangements and dignity are above tradition," Naik said.
On his returning the ordinance for giving the status of cabinet minister to the chairman of state minorities commission Shakeel Ahmad, he said it was against the Constitution and apex court orders.
"During this period, a total of 11 ordinances have come to me and barring two concerning the minorities commission rest were given approval," Naik said, adding, that 21 bills were sent to him of which assent was given to 14 and three were referred to Rashtrapati Bhawan.
On charges that he had undermined dignity of his post by answering a question on Ram temple issue during his Faizabad visit, Naik said an NGO knocked the doors of the judiciary, but to no avail.
To a question regarding law and order, power and water problems, he said that he keeps suggesting the government on the complaints received by him on these issues.
Declining a direct reply to a question on the development of the state, Naik said as per his experience of representing a constituency in Mumbai which has some 25 per cent north Indian voters, he can say both the people and the state have great scope to progress.
