Ex-Army chief calls on Chouhan as courtesy visit

Singh is in the city for academic purpose

Former Army chief Gen V K Singh today called on Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at the latter's official residence here.

Singh, who is in the city for academic purpose, was accompanied by his wife Bharti, sources said, adding it was a "courtesy" visit.

The former Army chief arrived here yesterday for appearing for a viva examination for his doctorate thesis at Barkutallah University.

He is pursuing Ph.D on 'Security implications of rise of fundamentalism in Afghanistan: Its Global and Regional impact with special focus on Wakhan'.

Wakhan is an Afghan territory sandwiched between China and Pakistan.
