An ex-serviceman was booked today for allegedly outraging the modesty of a 29-year-old woman during a scuffle between the two at her flat under D B Marg police station area in the city, police said.

Bhagwan Singh, a former Army personnel, went to the flat of the woman in a residential complex, of which he is a caretaker, suspecting that she was using her residence for commercial purpose.

Singh took some photographers along with him and clicked photos as 'evidence' of commercial activity in the concerned flat to show them to building authorities.

However, the woman objected to clicking the photos, following which a scuffle broke out between the duo in which her cloth torn off, police said.

According to police, Singh tried to stop the woman from approaching police.

He has been booked under sections 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 452 (house trespass after preparation for hurt) and 32 (words referring to acts include illegal omissions) of IPC, an official said.
