The Uttar Pradesh vigilance department has lodged nine FIRs against 23 persons including former BSP minster Awadhpal Singh Yadav in four districts over alleged corruption in construction of veterinary hospitals.

The FIRs were lodged yesterday in Etah, Firozabad, Mainpuri and Farrukhabad districts against Yadav, his son Ranjit, assistant project manager RK Pal and others, sources said today.

Awadhpal Singh Yadav held Animal Husbandary portfolio in previous Mayawati government but was later sacked after his name cropped in corruption cases. He was also denied a BSP ticket in last year's UP assembly polls.
