Former Congress MP, P T Thomas today lashed out at the state party leadership for denying him ticket to contest from Idukki Lok Sabha seat for second time by "giving in to external pressures."
"The triumvirs of the party should introspect if it was correct on their part to have denied me ticket by giving in to external pressures," Thomas said, in a veiled attack on Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, KPCC president V M Sudheeran and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala.
Thomas, whose open advocacy of the Gadgil report on the Western Ghats convseration had incurred the wrath of the Catholic church in the Christian-dominated Idukki, said if he was given another chance to contest the victory of the LDF candidate could have been avoided.
He said he did not regret for advocating implementation of the Gadgil report which would saved the Western Ghats from further degradation and served the long- term interests of settler farmers.
