Ex-Congress MLA in MP Surta Singh Maravi dies

Surta Singh Maravi, former Congress MLA from Niwas assembly constituency in the district, died of a heart attack at a hospital in Jabalpur near here today, his family sources said.

He was 75.

Maravi is survived by his wife, a son and two daughters.

The former MLA had been admitted to the hospital following a brief illness. He breathed his last today after suffering a heart attack at the hospital, the sources said.

Maravi was elected as a legislator from Niwas on Congress party ticket in 1998. He was very popular for carrying out various development works in his constituency- Niwas.
 

His last rites will be performed at his ancestral village Thanam in the district, the family sources said.
