A former Deputy Commissioner of Delhi Police was today held guilty by a special court for amassing assets worth over Rs 10 lakh disproportionate to his known sources of income in a 2001 case.
Special CBI Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna convicted Bhupinder Singh Bola, an IPS officer, and fixed the matter for tomorrow for hearing of arguments on the quantum of sentence.
"Accused B S Bola is convicted for the offence punishable under section 13(2) (criminal misconduct by public servant) read with 13(1)(e) (possession of disproportionate assets by public servant) of Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act. Put up on October 7, 2016, for arguments and order on the point of sentence," the court said.

The accused failed to explain the source of the recovered assets, it claimed. A charge sheet was filed by the CBI under the provisions of PC Act.
The accused has denied the allegations levelled against him.
