Mahindra Racing have replaced Karun Chandhok with Nick Heidfeld as one of their drivers for the second Formula E season beginning in October.
The sole Indian outfit in the Championship today confirmed the signing of Heidfeld besides stating that Bruno Senna will continue with the team.
Heidfeld, who has 13 Formula 1 podium finishes to his name, was with the Venturi squad in the inaugural Formula E season where he ended 12th in the drivers' standings.

Team principal Dilbagh Gill added: "He brings a wealth of experience to the team and we were impressed with his performances in the inaugural season. Nick has also been an integral part of testing the M2Electro with our team. Mahindra Racing is targeting top results this season and with over 2,000km of pre-season testing successfully completed, we are confident we are giving Nick the car to do it."
Mahindra made the announcement before the start of pre-season testing today. They finished a below par eighth out of 10 teams last season, a performance termed "unacceptable" by Gill.
Mahindra enter the second season as one of the eight manufacturers developing its own electric powertrain to power its quartet of cars.
