BJP today reacted sharply to the reported comments made by former Himachal Pradesh Governor Urmila Singh while returning the file seeking prosecution sanction against former Chief minister P K Dhumal.

It demanded immediate action against the officers against whom Singh had recommended disciplinary action.

Terming the adverse comments of the governor while returning the file as an "aspersion on functioning of the government", state BJP spokesman Ganesh Dutt said it has vindicated the stand of the party that the government was wreaking vengeance and targeting the political opponents, especially former CM Dhumal.

The governor had returned the file seeking prosecution sanction against Dhumal in a case pertaining to permission granted to former IPS office A N Sharma to rejoin after his resignation was accepted by the government.

Revealing some comments made by the former governor while returning the file, the BJP spokesman said that in case the government did not take action against the erring officials, all options are open for the party including approaching the new governor and the court.

"We want action against the concerned officials and in case the government did not act fast, all options are open for us including approaching the new governor and moving the court," he told reporters.

Dutt alleged that corruption was rampant and the law and order situation has deteriorated in the state during the past two years of Congress rule and demanded a CBI probe into the charge sheet submitted to the governor by the party one year ago.
